Squats with barbell

Squats with barbell is an effective exercise for fast muscle building. This guide will show you how to do them correctly.

🏋️‍♀️ Prepare equipment

Before you start the exercise, make sure you have the right equipment. You will need a barbell, a weight bench with a rack and appropriate footwear. Make sure the barbell is the right weight for your fitness level. If you are unsure, start with a lighter weight and increase gradually.

👣 Assume position

Stand with your back to the weight bench and your feet shoulder-width apart. Your toes should point slightly outward. Lift the barbell from the rack and place it on your upper back, not on your neck. Hold the barbell with both hands.

📉 Perform squat

Take a deep breath and lower your body by bending your knees. Keep your back straight and your chest up. Your knees should point in the same direction as your toes. Lower your body until your thighs are parallel to the floor.

📈 Come up again

Exhale and press your feet into the floor to push your body back up. Make sure you fully extend your hips and knees. This is a repetition.

🔄 Repetitions and sets

Perform 3 sets of 10 repetitions. Between sets you should take a break of 1-2 minutes. Remember that the quality of the movement is more important than the amount of repetitions.

🧘‍♀️ Stretching and recovery

After a workout, it is important to stretch your muscles and give them time to recover. Stretch your leg and gluteal muscles to release tension and increase flexibility.
