Coconut oil for moisturizing

Coconut oil for moisturizing

Coconut oil is a natural moisturizer for your skin. Here you can learn how to use it properly.

🎯 Goal

🥥 Get coconut oil

The first step, of course, is to get coconut oil. You can find it in many supermarkets, drugstores or online. Make sure that it is cold-pressed, virgin coconut oil. This contains all the important nutrients and is free of additives.

🧼 Clean skin

Before you apply the coconut oil, you should clean your skin thoroughly. Use a mild cleanser and warm water. Then gently pat your skin dry with a towel.

🌡️ Warming coconut oil

Coconut oil is solid at room temperature. However, you can easily warm it up in your hands. Take a small amount of oil and rub it between your hands until it becomes liquid.

💆 Apply coconut oil

Now you can apply the coconut oil to your skin. Massage it gently in circular motions. Pay special attention to dry areas.

🕑 Leave to act

Leave the coconut oil on for at least 15 minutes. You can also leave it on the skin overnight. The oil is absorbed slowly and provides your skin with intensive moisture.

🚿 Remove excess oil

If you do not want to leave the oil on overnight, you can dab off excess coconut oil with a soft cloth or rinse with warm water after the application time.

📆 Regular use

For healthy skin, it is important to apply coconut oil regularly. Depending on the skin type, it is recommended to use 1-3 times a week.

🚫 Caution with intolerances.

Even though coconut oil has many beneficial properties, it can cause intolerances in some people. If you notice redness or itching after using it, you should stop using it and consult a dermatologist.
